Communicate growth of your Mailchimp audience using Gleebeam and Zapier

Let your team know when new people subscribe to your Mailchimp mailing list. In this guide we’ll be using Zapier to trigger a Gleebeam notification whenever a new subscriber is added to a Mailchimp audience.

1. Create a notification template on Gleebeam

In your Gleebeam account, create a template for the notification you want to receive each time a new subscriber joins. Click Save & Exit once you’re done to return to the templates view.

We will return to Gleebeam later in the tutorial. Let’s continue by setting up Zapier.

💡You can add a sound effect to your notifications in the sound menu of the editor sidebar.

2. Set up the Zapier trigger event

Create a new zap in your Zapier account. Select Mailchimp as the trigger app. Set the trigger event to New Subscriber and click Continue.

Proceed by clicking Continue and you’ll be asked to test the connection between Zapier and Mailchimp. Do that to make sure everything is set up properly so far.

3. Set up the Zapier action event

⭐️ Gleebeam now has an official Zapier integration, which makes setting up actions in Zapier much simpler. Click this link to learn how to use it and skip this section in the tutorial.

For your action app choose Webhooks by Zapier. Set POST as the action event.

In the next step you will be asked to provide the data to send with the action event. Back in your Gleebeam account click on the template you created to view its automation data.

Copy the API URL and the JSON data to the respective form fields in Zapier as shown in the image below. Set Payload Type to “Json”.

Zapier will ask you to test the action. Once you do that you should receive a notification on the Gleebeam dashboard. All you now need to do is to turn on the zap and focus on growing your mailing list!
